A VKB (vastus lateralis tendon) rupture in the proximal third of the leg refers to a tear in the muscle tendon located in the upper portion of the leg. This can lead to weakness, pain, and instability in the knee joint, affecting the individual's ability to walk or engage in physical activities. In the context of leg length discrepancy, this rupture can further exacerbate the imbalance between the legs, potentially causing additional gait abnormalities and musculoskeletal issues. Treatment may involve physical therapy, bracing, or in severe cases, surgical intervention. **

A proximal third VKB rupture refers to a tear in the upper part of the anterior cruciate ligament near the thigh bone. In terms of leg length discrepancy, this type of injury may not directly cause a noticeable difference in leg length. However, the resulting instability and altered mechanics in the knee joint can lead to compensatory changes in gait and posture, which may contribute to issues such as leg length discrepancy over time. It is important to address the underlying ACL injury to prevent further complications that could potentially impact leg length. **
